This treat tastes way too decadent to be good for me! :) After I discovered the joy of banana smoothies, I was craving something sweet for dessert. I made a few alterations to that recipe and came up with this wonderful dessert smoothie that tastes like a rich milkshake! It would also be delicious with some strawberries if you have those on hand.
I've been halving the original recipe and it really is plenty for both me and the bf-about 6 oz. (one small glass) each. If you want to make bigger servings, I would say this is enough for 1 person. Feel free to double for more!
Also, I've been freezing the yogurts in the original packaging, using some warm water- a-la old school Popsicle mold style- to get the yogurt out and then carefully sawing in half and popping back in the freezer. However, it might be easier to dose out the yogurt into separate containers pre-freezing. An ice cube tray could also work wonders here!
Ah! The possibilities are endless...What is your favorite smoothie?
Chocolate Banana Smoothie
Makes about 12 oz. or 1 large serving
- 1/2 banana, fresh
- 1/2 6 oz. light and fit yogurt, frozen
- 3/4 cup skim milk
- 1/4 cup 1% chocolate milk (Use skim milk and extra syrup if you don't have any)
- 1 TBSP chocolate syrup
- few drops vanilla extract
Place all ingredients in mixer and blend away! I use the liquefy setting for about 10 seconds or until it sounds smooth.
Treat yourself and indulge!
